THE MILLENNIUM GOALS:
All countries in the world recently met again this year to wrap up the Millennium Development Goals from year 2000 and continue the work. This is the new 2015 agenda paragraphs they agreed upon, focusing more on the climate change:
1. LESS HUNGER
Wipe out hunger and poverty once and for all. Yep, we're moving good, but still 1 out of 9 don't have enough food.
2. MORE EDUCATION
Education for all children of course. But we still have 58 million young world citizens out there who does not get any education whatsoever.
3. GENDER EQUALITY
Promote gender equality and empower women. In primary school we are getting there, but it’s still too much discrimination of women around.
4. KEEP KIDS ALIVE
Reduce the number of dying children.17.000 more children/day are saved compared to 1990. Still 6.000.000 children/year die before five year.
5. KEEP MOTHERS ALIVE
Improve maternal health. We reduced death of moms giving birth to kids by half compared to 1990. Still many need health care while pregnant.
6. COMBAT DISEASES
Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases is not an easy thing but we are moving forward. Progress shows by good statistics in figures.
7. MORE CLEAN WATER
More clean water. It needs to get there in an sustainable way. We managed to fix drinking water for 2.3 billion. Next is water for hygiene.
8. MORE AID MONEY
More money for the poor countries. Reduce the debts for the poor so they can use their money for development instead of paying back.
The money issue is pretty much delt with in the Addis Ababa Action Agenda. Check it out.
